Information for Candidates Who Sat for the June 2012 Oral Examination

Please check your mail over the next several days for your official result letter. To find out if you have passed the exam, you may log into your Status Page. Information about Maintenance of Certification indicates that you passed the examination. A link to register for the next oral examination means you must repeat this step of the certification process. A link to the written qualifying examination means that you must repeat this step of the certification process before being admitted to the oral examination. Candidates' official pass or fail notifications are sent by mail only and cannot be given online or by phone.

June 2012 Oral Examination Results Released

The results of the June 2012 Oral Examination are now available. The exam was conducted June 1-3, 2012 in San Francisco, CA. A total of 284 candidates sat for the Examination. Out of the 234 candidates taking the Examination for the first time, 186 (79.49%) passed. Out of the 50 candidates repeating the Examination, 37 passed (74%). The ABO thanks all of the volunteer examiners who participated in the June examination. The next Oral Examination will be held October 12-14, 2012 in San Francisco, CA.

Prometric Services Interruption this Weekend

Please be aware that there will be a planned Prometric outage for scheduled maintenance on Sunday July 1, 2012 from 7 AM – 1 PM Eastern Time for a PCI maintenance release. As a result, all DOCK (Demonstration of Ophthalmic Cognitive Knowledge) test scheduling functions will be unavailable during this time.

September 2012 DOCK Scheduling Now Open

The American Board of Ophthalmology has sent an email on how to schedule a one-half day test appointment during the September 1-30, 2012 DOCK testing window at a Prometric Center location to all diplomates registered for the exam. If you recently registered for the DOCK exam (via late registration), you will receive your email within 5 business days.

Changes to Board Eligibility
